Be patient and courteous. Allow others to express their views, display their costumes and/or impromptu scenario acts throughout the show. We are all here to enjoy all the festivities.
Be inclusive. We welcome and support people of all backgrounds and identities. This includes, but is not limited to members of any sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, race, ethnicity, culture, national origin, social and economic class, educational level, color, immigration status, sex, age, size, family status, political belief, religion, and mental and physical ability.
Be considerate. We all depend on each other and the input from the patrons to produce the best show ( Gilt & Fanfare) that we can as a production company. Your decisions will affect other patrons and colleagues. You should take any consequences of those decisions into account when making a decision. Discussions at panels or throughout the show is encouraged. As long as these discussions are not disruptive to the exhibit or to others around you.
Be respectful. A disagreement is no excuse for any disrespectful behavior. We will all experience frustration from time to time, but we cannot allow that frustration to become personal attacks. An environment where people feel uncomfortable or threatened is not only not a productive/ creative one, but it is an unacceptable one.
Choose your words carefully. Always conduct yourself professionally. Be considerate to other employees, patrons, attendees, and performers. Do not insult, heckle or put down others. Harassment and exclusionary behavior are not acceptable. This includes, but is not limited to:
Threats of violence.
Discriminatory jokes and language.
Sharing sexually explicit or violent material via any means.
Personal insults, especially those using racist or sexist terms.
Unwelcome sexual attention
Unwelcome sexual contact
Advocating for, or encouraging, any of the behavior listed here.
Harassment. If someone asks you to stop, then stop. JME support staff are all available to help or assist any attendees of Gilt & Fanfare if they feel threatened or harassed.
Children under 12 years of age. All children under the age of 12 MUST be accompanied by an adult or a sibling older than 16.
Smoking / Vaping. Smoking or use of a Vape is not permitted inside public buildings in the state of New Jersey. There are designated smoking / Vaping areas, outside the building. These areas, by law are located no less than 20 feet from doors or open vents into the building.
Weapons. Real firearms are not allowed in Gilt & Fanfare (Operable or inoperable). Swords, daggers or other medieval / renaissance weaponry, MUST be peace tied. Steampunk or other weaponry types will be allowed at the discretion of JME Security. Any weapon constructed from any portion of a real firearm is prohibited. As per the State of NJ.
Badges. All badges must be visible at all times. Do not place in a pocket or under clothing that is not easily accessible. You cannot be without your badge. JME reserves the right to require you to retrieve your badge or relocate it in an easily viewable location. If you lose your badge, you will need to purchase a new badge at the registration desk.
Expulsion. All ticket sales are final. JME Staff reserve the right to revoke show access and or hotel access if the person displays any continued abhorrent and/or disruptive behavior. Local police will be utilized if necessary.
Lewdness. Gilt & Fanfare is an all ages show. Overly revealing costuming and/or any nudity is strictly prohibited. We do not mean to curb any creativity or costuming, but be mindful of modesty.
Photos. Do NOT photograph anyone without their prior consent. This does not apply to people in crowds. Be courteous and mindful when using flash photography. Performers and instructors may become distracted. Respect others wishes if they decline to be photographed or recorded. We reserve the right to ask for the removal or deletion of any media taken from our event without permission.
